Board of Chiropractic Examiners

The BCE, established in 1922, regulates the chiropractic profession in California, focusing on protecting Californians from fraudulent and incompetent practices. With approximately 14,000 licensees and oversight of 19 chiropractic schools and colleges in the US and Canada, we maintain high standards in the field. Governed by a seven-member board appointed by the Governor, including five licensed chiropractors and two public representatives, we are dedicated to licensing, education, enforcement, and regulatory duties.

The Board of Chiropractic Examiners goal is to ensure that chiropractors are thoroughly trained and qualified to provide the highest quality of care. Chiropractors are responsible for the health and safety of their patients, and the Board of Chiropractic Examiners plays a significant role in ensuring that they meet the necessary requirements to practice.
